John Stirling
Co-founder and Director, Arbikie Highland Estate
John Stirling graduated from Aberdeen University with an Honours Degree in Politics and Economics and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs / Oxford University Entrepreneurial Business School.
However, John, who was brought up on the family farm in the Northeast of Scotland, decided in 2013 to follow his passion and build with his brothers, one of the most, if not the most sustainable distilleries in the world at Arbikie in Scotland.
Arbikie has a Single Estate philosophy where everything must be grown on the farm, follows a regenerative farming philosophy and aims for zero waste. It is a pioneer of sustainable spirits.
It’s produced the world’s first climate positive spirits – Nadar Gin and Vodka ( -1.54kg co2 per bottle) made from legumes, the first Rye Scotch whisky in over 200 years and a variety of super premium gin and vodkas. It has been laying down Single Malt for the last 10 years. It will also shortly be the first green hydrogen distillery in the world.
Clients include Aman Resorts, Ritz, Dante, Fat Duck, Jean George Restaurants (NYC), Zuma, Roka and a variety of high-end cocktail bars and Michelin star restaurants.
