Corporates are increasingly committing to purpose, with more than 11% of global GDP represented by companies that have signed purpose pledges. Yet despite this momentum, efforts are siloed and hence seen as niche.
What if we could form a larger tent that brings together the many business coalitions that promote purpose and take the mainstream space rather than a niche positioning. What if the mainstream definition of business incorporated purpose, and those lacking it required niche terms. What would it take to accelerate this movement and embed impact at the heart of decision-making?
Join us as we unpack the pathways required to move purpose-led businesses from the margins to the mainstream.

System Shock or System Shift: Redefining Old Rules and Yesterday’s Tools for Urban Resilience
Tue 20 Jan 2026 11:00 am - 12:30 pm (CET/GMT+1)
Flourishing House (Rätia Center: Inspiration Room)
What if the real failure of our time is financing cities for a stable climate that no longer exists and the true system shift begins when urban resilience and planetary health become the core logic of infrastructure investment?
Cities are now the front line of the planetary crisis and the proving ground for solutions. Home to the majority of the world’s population and the epicentre of climate, health, and infrastructure risk, cities can no longer be treated as passive recipients of global policy. They must become active engines of a new system shift, where resilience, health, and prosperity are designed into urban development from the outset.
System Shock or System Shift: Redefining Old Rules and Yesterday’s Tools for Urban Resilience convenes global finance leaders, city practitioners, and planetary health experts to examine how outdated financial, diplomatic, and governance frameworks are locking cities into long-term vulnerability. With over 60% of future infrastructure still unfunded and much of what is built today neither green nor resilient—the session reframes urban resilience from a cost burden into a strategic asset class.
Co-convened by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the Sunway Centre for Planetary Health and hosted by the Tsao Pao Chee Foundation, the dialogue explores how innovative finance, policy alignment, and cross-sector integration can unlock investment in health-protective, nature-positive urban systems turning capital into a decisive lever for a safer, more resilient urban future.

Accelerating Offshore Wind in Southeast Asia

Flourishing House (Rätia Center: Inspiration Room)
What if Asia’s offshore wind challenge is no longer about ambition or technology, but about whether we can coordinate capital, infrastructure, and supply chains fast enough to turn momentum into bankable, regional-scale delivery?
Southeast Asia stands at a strategic inflection point in offshore wind. Despite global headwinds capital constraints, geopolitical uncertainty, and supply-chain disruption the region has demonstrated remarkable resilience and momentum. This progress has not been accidental. It reflects sustained, evidence-based policy engagement and catalytic philanthropic support that kept markets moving when commercial conditions were uncertain. This dialogue examines how Asia’s offshore wind transition must now evolve from route-to-market reform toward full system enablement. With policy ambition increasingly in place, the binding constraints have shifted to infrastructure, supply chains, ports, grids, finance, and public trust.
The session explores how regional coordination rather than fragmented national approaches can unlock scale faster and more efficiently. Participants will interrogate where catalytic capital can most effectively de-risk early stages, crowd in commercial finance, and lower the cost of capital through better sequencing, shared assets, and investment-ready pathways.
Framed as a systems-building conversation, the discussion focuses on how offshore wind can become not just a climate solution, but strategic infrastructure strengthening energy security, industrial development, and regional resilience across Southeast Asia.

What if the greatest barrier to solving society’s hardest problems is not a lack of capital or innovation, but the absence of leaders willing to take long-term ownership of outcomes and re-engineer the systems that keep problems in place?
The world today is standing at a crossroads, facing unchartered territories, with misaligned and outdated systems. Even as technology accelerates, geopolitical tensions rise, cultures evolve, and climate impacts intensify, policies, markets, institutions, and social norms often pull in different directions, preventing promising solutions from achieving lasting scale.
As a result, breakthrough technologies, ambitious policy commitments, and growing capital flows frequently fail to address fundamental changes that are required and translate into durable outcomes. Without shifts in the rules, incentives, power structures, and mindsets that govern how systems operate, progress remains fragile and dependent on short-term interventions.
At the same time, an unprecedented global wealth transfer is underway, alongside rising expectations for private sector and philanthropic leadership in addressing public challenges. This marks a turning point where the role and intent of private capital in shaping public outcomes is being fundamentally redefined.
They can either continue funding fragmented, time-bound interventions that treat symptoms, or step into roles as visionaries, risk absorbers, coalition builders, and long-term system stewards, enabling governments, markets, and communities to scale what works.
Understanding how to engage with systems in this way, responsibly, collaboratively, and with humility, is now a core leadership capability.
This session focuses on a leadership approach that has proven capable of engaging with this level of complexity, namely moonshot philanthropy as a driver of systems change.
Moonshot philanthropy is not only about applying systems-thinking tools. It is defined by bold unimaginable ambition, long-term commitment, and personal ownership of outcomes. It involves committing not just financial capital, but also time, influence, networks, and persistence to high-risk, system-level solutions. Philanthropic capital is used to absorb early failure so that successful models can be adopted and scaled by governments and institutions.
Rather than funding isolated programmes, moonshot thinkers seek to re-engineer the conditions that keep problems in place. They work to align policy, markets, institutions, leadership, and social narratives until change becomes structurally embedded rather than philanthropically dependent.
Drawing on real-world case studies, this session explores what it takes, in practice, to pursue audacious systems transformation over decades, not grant cycles.

In ancient practice of Dao, longevity is understood as coherence — the ability of the body, mind, and emotions to stay in communication under change. The Six Healing Sounds are a subtle method for tuning the body’s Inner Operating System, using breath and gentle vibration to release tension, calm the nervous system, and restore smooth internal flow. Each sound resonates with a different functional system — supporting adaptability, emotional regulation, grounding, breath rhythm, deep resilience, and overall integration.
Practiced softly and without effort, the sounds act like a quiet recalibration, clearing internal “noise” and helping the system return to balance. Rather than targeting symptoms, the practice strengthens the conditions for well-being and longevity: clarity, steadiness, and the capacity to recover. It is a simple yet profound way of restoring coherence the liver, heart, spleen, lungs, kidneys and triple burner — not by adding more, but by allowing the body’s natural intelligence to re-organise itself. A simple yet profound practice bridging ancient wisdom with modern wellness needs.

What if the greatest constraint on philanthropic and impact capital is not scarcity of funds, but fragmentation of intelligence and rewiring the system upstream could turn trust from a late-stage outcome into an early operating condition?
Philanthropic and impact capital has never had more intent, more tools, or more urgency yet it still moves too slowly. The system remains fragmented, opaque, and overly dependent on personal relationships and late-stage trust-building. Trillions may flow annually, but coordination costs stay high, duplication is common, and opportunities for aligned capital stacks are missed when actors can’t “see” each other early enough.
This session convenes a small group of leaders to name the structural bottlenecks upstream where the system breaks down first and to explore what it would take for capital to move with coherence from the outset. The aim is to establish a shared diagnosis across regions, institutions, and capital types, and to introduce a collective response at the operating system level through a prototype walkthrough.
At the heart of the dialogue is a simple shift: trust is too often built too late. If shared intelligence, alignment signals, and risk visibility appeared earlier in the lifecycle, collaboration could become the default unlocking faster co-funding, clearer roles, and more effective systemic portfolios across a multipolar world.

What if the real barrier to replacing plastics is not innovation, but our inability to collectively price risk, align demand, and finance scale—and the deadlock persists until industry chooses coordination over caution?
A private (by invitation only) dialogue session hosted by Velamar.
The global effort to move beyond plastics is at an impasse. Despite clear environmental urgency, widespread corporate commitments, and growing public pressure, progress toward scalable alternatives remains uneven and slow. The problem is not a lack of intent, technology, or pilot activity. It is that the underlying system economics, supply chains, risk allocation, and capital markets has not yet been rewired to support change at scale.
Breaking the Plastic Deadlock focuses squarely on this structural challenge. The session examines why viable alternatives to plastics continue to struggle to move from proof-of-concept to mainstream adoption, even among companies with the strongest incentives and resources to act. Participants will interrogate where value chains break down: cost curves that fail to converge, fragmented supply and offtake, regulatory uncertainty, and risks that are difficult to price, insure, or absorb on individual balance sheets.
Convened by Velamar, the session aims to surface the hard truths behind stalled progress and identify credible pathways through which industry, capital, and finance can jointly unlock scale, turning plastic reduction from ambition into execution.

Impact through Entrepreneurship – Scaling Models that Align Purpose, People, Planet, and Capital
Tue 20 Jan 2026 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm (CET/GMT+1)
Flourishing House (Rätia Center: Inspiration Room)
What if the most scalable solutions to inequality and climate risk are not grants, but entrepreneurs—backed by patient capital that values people, planet, and profit as one system?
Philanthropic impact investing is entering a decisive era—one where entrepreneurship, not charity alone, is proving capable of reshaping systems at scale. Hosted by elea, this session explores how entrepreneurially led ventures are aligning purpose, people, planet, and capital to deliver durable impact across the Global South.
Drawing on two decades of experience, elea brings forward portfolio entrepreneurs who demonstrate how integrating people into global value chains—as producers, distributors, and customers—creates both inclusive economic participation and resilient business models. These ventures show that social and environmental outcomes are not trade-offs, but multipliers of long-term value and financial sustainability.
The conversation moves beyond inspiration into practice, examining how patient, catalytic capital can unlock follow-on investment, strengthen local investment climates, and enable impact ventures to scale responsibly. By grounding insights in real-world journeys—from early risk-taking to market traction—the session offers a clear view into what it truly takes to practice philanthropic impact investing that lasts.
